What’s The Difference?
Empowered for Life (EFL) is the vision of Anthony Muyt a former NSW Police Officer and QPWS Ranger, with over 18 years frontline enforcement experience, in some of this countries toughest locations. As an Operative and Close Quarter Combat Instructor with the NSW Police Force’s Tactical Operations Unit, Anthony oversaw the design & development of a self-defence system specifically for use by Tactical Operatives in high-risk police operations. Anthony’s extensive martial art and enforcement experience, combined with his deep empathy on the physical and psychological impacts of an attack has helped him develop EFL into a unique, holistic, self-defence system for women. Open to all ages (13+) and ability, workshops are conducted in a safe and fun learning environment.
- Helping women to feel empowered, aware, confident & safe, within their homes, at work, when they’re out and about and travelling;
- Assisting all women to identify and embrace the peaceful warrior within themselves;
- Work with other organisations, government agencies, men and women to help break the chain of male violence towards women;
- Help create a world where sexual assualts and violence towards women are a thing of the past. A world where both the feminine and the masculine walk side by side, guided by love and respect for each other.
EFL prides itself on maintaining realism and a personnel perspective with all our workshops. Training is conducted either in our purpose built studio or in your home. Our studio has been designed to reflect a warm and welcoming home-like environment. The practical component of the training is undertaken within both open areas and confined spaces such as bedrooms, bathrooms, loungerooms . The drills and scenarios also include stairwells and vehicles with the complete system of skills being directly transferable to locations such as hotels, nightclubs, public transport and street environments. Smashable props are included during the scenario aspect of the training, helping to enhance the realism.
